I had the honor of accompanying the Sexual and Reproductive Health Coordination of MINSA in a day dedicated to promoting prevention and self-care in women’s health.
It was an inspiring experience that reminded me why health education is so powerful: because when a woman is informed, she can change her story and that of her family.
Early detection saves lives
During the activity, we talked about the importance of regular medical check-ups and knowing the risk factors associated with breast and cervical cancer, two diseases that still affect many women in Panama and the world.
I firmly believe that early detection is the most effective tool we have to face cancer. A timely diagnosis can make the difference between a simple treatment and a complex one.
That’s why my message is always the same: don’t wait until you feel something strange to take care of your health. Prevention begins long before symptoms appear.
Education and prevention: a commitment we share
This day was an opportunity to talk, answer questions and share practical tools for daily care. Every encounter with the community reaffirms to me that health education is the first step towards a stronger and more conscious society.
It is not just about talking about diseases, but about encouraging healthy habits, promoting self-exploration and losing the fear of consulting.
When information arrives in time, prevention becomes a form of hope.
