Stage IV Gynecologic Cancer
“On September 27, 2019, I went to a control appointment with the gynecologist since I was due for my annual check-up. I didn’t have any symptoms, I just went for control and that’s why control checkups are so important, they can detect any abnormality in time. In the gynecological examination he found a mass that was behind the vagina. After a series of exams he referred me to a surgical oncologist so that he could remove the mass and that was when I met Dr. Roberto García. On October 16, 2019, I had surgery to remove a retroperitoneal tumor. After this, I had a biopsy and was diagnosed with gynecological cancer. Thank God everything was on time and I always had the support of Dr. Roberto who is always available to help me and support me in any query. He always transmitted to me the tranquility that one needs in the face of news like this, he is part of my family, he always goes further. This news that I had cancer was quite strong for me, it was difficult for me to assimilate it, it was a series of feelings that were mixed because for me, cancer meant death or losing things in your life. I started a rather difficult process of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but I overcame it. When I thought I couldn’t take it anymore, I prayed and God gave me the strength to continue and I thought of my daughter who is my engine to continue fighting. I finished my treatment and all the exams were fine, I had passed it, I thought. I started my follow-up appointments and everything was going well. I changed my diet, started exercising, yoga and meditation, which helped me a lot to recover.
In February 2021 I had a PET scan, thanks to the recommendation of Dr. Roberto and I say thank you because he did not want to perform the exam, I was going to let it go, but he recommended me to do it and the exam indicated that I had metastases in the lung, they found 3 small nodules. At the time of receiving this news I found a team of doctors who gave me peace of mind. Dr. Roberto had his team of doctors ready for me and they helped me assimilate this better. I went to this appointment alone, which one should never do. We must always be accompanied because one does not know what one can find. Dr. Roberto and his team helped me assimilate this news, it was not as difficult as the first time, since they were in control of the whole situation, cleared all my doubts and gave me that emotional support I needed. I started my second chemotherapy treatment but this time it was more bearable, I continued to do yoga, meditation and maintained a healthy diet. I feel like these were things that helped me in this second battle. Always holding the hand of God and my Virgin of Guadalupe who gave me the strength to be able to pray the rosary every night. After finishing the treatment I had my PET scan and it came out clean, I did not have any of the 3 nodules; they had disappeared. Today I can say that there is life after Cancer and it all depends on how you decide to see each day. We must learn to live, be grateful to live one day at a time.”

"Almost two years ago my life took a 180-degree turn, from a simple laparoscopy that had entered due to a presumed blood hematoma, I found a news item the next day whose disease composed of 6 letters, turned out to be the word that no one wants to hear because at the moment of a diagnosis it sounds like death.
I believe in God and with what I have lived I can testify that God puts angels in our path to face our greatest battles; the knowledge and hands of Dr. Roberto García Castillo were the instruments that the Lord used both in my first surgery (which was a surprise when this terrible diagnosis was detected) and then in the next two operations to save my life.
What's more, my largest and most important surgery was already scheduled to be done abroad, since against all odds my body had responded to chemotherapy, and the Covid pandemic came and all the airports closed and the Lord wanted to give the Glory to Dr. Roberto García Castillo.
I clung with all my heart to a Psalm from the Bible that goes like this: "I will not die, but I will live to tell what the Lord did" (Psalm 118:17), I clung to Life and for me Death was not an option, I asked God for a Second Chance and to Serve Him for the rest of my Life, And here I am giving my testimony.
If you are living this test, I want to tell you that a diagnosis of cancer and even if it is in stage 4 is not synonymous with death, it is a parenthesis that your body is making so that you become aware of how far you have taken your life and make an integral transformation (soul, body and spirit).
Medicine (chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgeries) and Doctors will be the instruments that God will put at your disposal, and it is important to lead a Healthy Life that ranges from food, stress management, exercises, strengthening your spiritual side and your relationship with the Creator, forgiving, leaving the past behind, loving life and living it with intensity, Surrounding yourself with your loved ones will be the key aspects for your recovery.
The process is not easy, there will be times when you will break down and cry, but not impossible, and remember to ask God to open the paths for your healing and give you the strength to continue, pray both for the doctors who treat you and the medicine you are taking is a blessing for your body, talk to your body and tell it that you love it with all the strength of your soul (the body listens and I know it).
I am still in (oral) treatment and every day I am resuming my life in a normal way (work, I share with my family and loved ones, I participate in Church activities, walk, etc.) and physically those who see me would not imagine what I have lived and continue to live, Gentlemen that is called the Mercy of God.

“First of all, I thank God for everything, he never abandons us, and although we do not want to see the positive message that God sends us even in bad times, there is always one.
One normal day and my mother, an 85-year-old lady, began with pain on one side, I had already taken her to another doctor and they diagnosed that she had a lot of feces and gas. A friend advised me to take her to Dr. Calixto Duarte, he did an ultrasound and realized that the gallbladder was too big and that there was a black spot, he ordered her to make a cat and it came out that she had a tumor, he immediately recommended me to Dr. Roberto García and gave me the cell phone number, I will never forget that it was a Saturday afternoon I called him and even though I thought he was not going to listen to me, he listened to me and gave me a lot of security and told me that he would communicate with Dr. Calixto and the Radiologist, he wrote to me and attended to my mother, he verified all tests and told me that I have to operate.
All the necessary medical tests were done for the operation and on May 19 she was operated on and thank God everything went well, she extracted a part of the liver, the tumor and everything that was infected by this cancer, it was type cancer 2.
Now my mom is in a pill treatment, she is fine, I share some photos of the things she does.
