Hello everyone! Today we want to share with you some important reflections that emerged from a recent congress focused on head and neck cancer. Although in Panama the incidence of this disease is not as high as in other types of cancer, we should not underestimate its impact. The complications and sequelae that treatments can leave (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy) are significant and profoundly affect the quality of life of patients.
This is why the complexity of head and neck cancer requires a comprehensive and coordinated approach. The key is in a multidisciplinary team, where specialists from various areas work in consensus to offer the most effective and personalized support to those who face this hard battle.
In the round table of the congress, several crucial aspects were explored: from the fundamentals of surgical treatments to the most advanced techniques such as radiosurgery and conventional therapy. It even delved into the promising field of immunotherapy, which is opening new doors for patients who previously had limited options.
The excitement was palpable among the attendees and experts, including Dr. Daniel Mur, a specialist in radiosurgery and radiological therapy. Finding such a high-level discussion space and with such complex issues in our own country is an impetus to continue advancing in the improvement of patient care.
