Every day I walk into an operating room, I remember why I chose to be a surgical oncologist. Oncological surgery is not only a medical technique, it is a deep commitment to life. Each patient represents a story, a family, a hope… and my job is to accompany them with empathy, precision and humanity.
I have learned that medicine goes beyond scalpels and diagnoses. It is listening, understanding the silences and holding the gaze of those who face one of the most difficult moments of their lives. To be a doctor is to have the opportunity to transform fear into confidence and pain into possibilities.
Throughout my career I have seen how science advances, and with it, the opportunities to offer safer, more personalized and effective treatments. But I have also seen how emotional support and clear communication make a difference in the recovery process.
That is why I firmly believe in medicine with a purpose: one that combines knowledge, empathy and real commitment to the integral well-being of the patient.
